Insurance penetration in Africa is only 3%, largely driven by South Africa’s high rate of 177%. Excluding South Africa, the rate drops to 1.2%, with Nigeria’s penetration below 1%. This leaves millions of Africans without insurance, particularly health insurance, leading to significant financial risks. MyCover.ai is addressing this issue by leveraging technology and product innovation to make insurance more accessible.
